• Craft Your Professional Persona: Develop a portfolio showcasing your skills and professionalism, aligning with curricula standards. Participants will create their own CVs, biographies and Access Riders.
• Leadership Insights: Connect with influential speakers, gaining insights and assertiveness to navigate the professional landscape with confidence.
• Role-Playing Mastery: Hone your assertiveness with mock job interviews and workplace scenarios, preparing for real-world challenges.
• Real-world Experience: Join us at Canberra Theatre and other arts organisations for work placements, aligning with curricula and providing a pathway to potential employment.
• Showcase Your Success: The program will culminate in a presentation for family and friends, where participants will reflect on the learnings gained through the program.

The program is also delivered in partnership with Skills Canberra, ensuring participants are assessed against established Australian Curricula. Building on over ten years’ experience using applied theatre to create social change for marginalised communities, Rebus Theatre will deliver an innovative work ready program for young adults with neurodivergence or intellectual disabilities. Expressive Pathways capitalises on the playful nature of theatre to teach real world skills and culminates in industry placements at The Canberra Theatre.

Over one year, a Rebus theatre director and a registered Trainer and Assessor, will use the therapeutic nature of theatre to guide participants through Foundational Workplace Skills. The significance of the program lies in the innovative application of theatre techniques to bring out the best in participants in a supportive, expressive environment.

Through hands-on activities, participants will refine communication skills through immersive role-playing exercises, simulating job interviews and workplace scenarios to equip themselves for real-world challenges. They will then gain invaluable real-world experience through work placements in front of house roles at the Canberra Theatre. The program aligns seamlessly with educational curricula while paving the way for potential employment opportunities.
