Rebus Theatre is excited to invite disabled visual artists living in Regional NSW or the ACT to contribute their unique creative perspectives to be featured in the transformative of the Re-Emergence film project, an exploration of the last five years and the themes that have shaped our world.
Rebus is seeking expressions of interest from actors, improvisors and musicians to receive free training in Playback Theatre as part of the Rebus Playback Theatre Ensemble! Training will likely lead to paid performance opportunities. Join a supportive ensemble, and an international community, creating Theatre for social change.
We are holding a public group audition workshop on Tuesday June 6 from 6:45-9:15pm in Braddon. The location will be provided upon registration.
Playback Theatre is a form of improvised theatre in which audience members tell moments or stories from their own lives, and a team of actors and musicians improvise it back on the spot, without costumes, props, script or rehearsal. It can be funny or deeply moving depending upon the story told. It can be a powerful tool in healing and empowering communities.

Join Rebus Theatre’s Re-Emergence project, celebrating the talents and perspectives of disabled adults from Bega, Queanbeyan, and Goulburn! Collaborate with award-winning theatre artists to create an original film showcasing your amazing stories.
Our first filming workshop for Queanbeyan participants is on Friday April 28 at The B, Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre, 11am-4pm. No acting experience required, it’s FREE to attend, and carers are welcome too!
We currently have spots available in our popular iDrama program.
Held at various locations in Canberra (Braddon, Downer and Kambah), iDrama is designed to encourage participants to develop their creative expression, build confidence, make new friends, and learn a few performance skills along the way. No acting experience required! For many participants, iDrama has been a launchpad into further opportunities and paid theatre work offered by Rebus!

Just Hearing is an innovative educational initiative to help service providers in the justice system to work better with people who are experiencing mental distress. Val Moogz draws upon diverse musical influences ranging from Patti Smith’s powerful rock poetry, to Bill Withers’ great songs of soul, to the acoustic surf pop lullabies of Jack Johnson. A self-proclaimed lover of life, nature and people, Val Moogz draws inspiration from their daily encounters and the beautiful surroundings of the South Coast of NSW to create relatable, heartfelt songs for everyone.
We practice radical empathy through theatre and other arts to stimulate healing and provoke social and environmental change.
