Stages of
empathy

A disability-led forum theatre experience that invites audiences to step into the action and rethink access, inclusion and social participation.

About

A free, interactive training program created through community consultation and led by performers with intellectual and neurodivergent disability.

Audiences are invited to interrupt scenes, test new responses and explore different outcomes in real time. The result builds confidence, empathy and more inclusive ways of working that continue long after the performance ends.

What is forum theatre?

Forum Theatre is a form of narrative-based learning where a story is performed, then paused, discussed and reshaped in real time.

The audience is invited to step in, proposing different choices, outcomes or entirely new scenarios, and see those ideas played out. Audiences learn through experience, reflection and collective problem-solving.
