Spring Onto Stage!

Award winning theatre company Rebus Theatre is delighted to offer this series of drama workshops created by and for LGBTQIA+ Adults, Elders and their Friends as part of SpringOUT.

Here are THREE, FREE upcoming workshops designed to enhance performance skills for queer folk and allies!


QUEER-PROV: Wednesday 13th November 2024 7.00pm to 9.00pm Ainslie Arts Centre
Improv Theatre Basics – Build confidence and spontaneity through improv theatre. No experience necessary! Book for QUEER-PROV here!

Improvised Movement and Expression: Sunday 17th November 2024 1.30pm to 3.30pm Ainslie Arts Centre
Explore physicality and expression through gentle theatre exercises in body language, tempo, and space. Suitable for all bodies! No experience necessary! Book for Improvised Movement and Expression here!

Performance Skills: Thursday 28th November 2024 7.00pm to 9.00pm Ainslie Arts Centre
Build confidence in performance and presentation skills. Explore techniques related to stage presence, connecting with an audience, delivering text, and handling nerves. All welcome! Book for Performance Skills here!

All workshops are suitable for LGBTQIA+ Adults, Elders and Friends who:

  • Love theatre;
  • Would like to build their confidence and performance skills;
  • Want to move more expressively;
  • Are just keen to try something new;
  • Absolutely anyone looking for a reason to get out of the house and learn some new skills in a warm and friendly environment amongst fellow LGBTQIA+ people and friends

These workshops are being held in advance of an ongoing free weekly drama program for LGBTQIA+ Adults, Elders and Friends beginning in early 2025.

These workshops are made FREE and possible with the generous support of SpringOUT, the ACT Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs’ Capital of Equality Grant program, and Ainslie and Gorman Arts Centres.
