Project Alchemy Playback Theatre and Workshop Tour

As part of Project Alchemy, Rebus Theatre’s Playback Ensemble toured their new show ‘At The End Of Our Street’ throughout September and October 2022 to multiple venues across Black Summer Bushfire affected areas in Eurobodalla Shire, Bega Shire, East Gippsland, Queanbeyan–Palerang Regional Council and the Australian Capital Territory.

Playback Theatre is a form of improvisational theatre in which audience members tell stories from their own lives and watch as actors and musicians enact them on the spot using movement, music and words, but without script or rehearsal. It can be moving or funny according to the stories shared.

Playback Theatre is a powerful way for people to share stories on common themes. Audiences are left with a better understanding of the issues that concern them as a community. They connect to each other and to their common goals and struggles.

‘At The End Of Our Street’ saw audiences real stories enacted on stage in an interactive theatre show that filled the heart and revived the spirit.
