Project Alchemy Guest Speaker Announcement – Zsuzsi Soboslay

We’re gearing up for our first Project Alchemy Artist Residency next week where 15 artists from 5 Black Summer Bushfire affected Local Government Areas will come together to receive trauma training, share skills, and rebuild their practice before returning to their own communities to lead arts based community projects.

We are very excited to announce our first guest speaker Zsuzsi Soboslay – Arts Doula who will be sharing her skills with our artists.

AboutZsuzsi

Arts Doula is a practice centred in relationship and inclusion.

Zsuzsi Soboslay is its founding practitioner. An artist and visionary bodyworker, Zsuzsi has run clinics, workshops and retreats to help restore vitality and connectedness for nearly 30 years.

Her therapeutic bodywork is a practical process for individuals and communities who come looking for optimal physical health, clearer relationships, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth, and help through change.

Arts Doula Creative Care Services was established in 2021 to extend expressive arts to a wider community, in person and online.

Zsuzsi is currently upgrading her credentials to become a Celebrant (for birth, death and other life transitions], and as a certified Dance for Parkinson’s and Dance for MS facilitator. Her services are available in Canberra, Sydney, Wollongong and anywhere [globally] online.

Zsuzsanna (Zsuzsi) Soboslay
B.A.(Hons.); A.Mus.A., L.T.C.L.

Zsuzsi is a highly respected teacher, therapist and performance collaborator who has presented BodyEcology across Australia’s Eastern states. She has worked as a writer, theatre creator and researcher and theatre creator in other parts of Australia, in London and Japan. She has published articles on identity, ecology and inclusion and over 250 reviews across all art forms, including for the Adelaide and LIFT (London) Festivals.

We practice radical empathy through theatre and other arts to stimulate healing and provoke social and environmental change.
